NCAA Athlete Angel Resse is making moves and not just on the court.
Angel Reese, Position: Forward (2023).
Angel Reese is a 21-year-old LSU star player who has branded herself as a star player for the NCAA women’s college basketball. Recently, she was featured in the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue and was not afraid to be vocal about anything that was on her mind. When I first looked into Reese, I noticed how ambitious and courageous she is on and off the court. She is the only known college athlete to sign with COACH! (P.S. Coach is one of my favorite brands!) When learning about her drive and love for basketball it reminded me of my experience with pageantry and spokesmodeling. To add, Reese was the No. 1 high school recruit from her class and has been named the most outstanding player of the NCAA women's basketball tournament.
When faced with hate or rude comments, she does not let those issues affect her and her game days. I think about how much confidence and ambition I had to have when dealing with competition and society as a whole. Her drive for basketball is what keeps her going; my drive for inspiring individuals and fashion is what keeps me going. A big takeaway that I noticed about Reese is her hardworking personality which is something that I think is paramount to have.
Being a leader doesn’t just mean directing others in a way that is demanding. A leader is someone who leads others in the right direction. They motivate and inspire people to achieve their goals. They create a vision. They guide and lead others in a way that makes not only their team stronger but themselves as well.
There are 3 tips I would give to someone who struggles with achieving their goals:
Never say no to something because you’re afraid of failure.
If there’s an opportunity waiting at your door, welcome that opportunity into your life.
Set clear goals and expectations of what you want to achieve.
I would like to end on this note by stating:
“TAKE THE STEP THAT MAKES YOU HAPPY!!!” - Angel Reese
