Naya (Ny-yuh) Shelton is a bold, influential visionary who isn’t afraid of taking risks. With the vision of becoming a fashion designer at two years old, fashion was her first language. Majoring in Fashion Merchandising and minoring in Media Studies fashion was always Naya’s first choice. While at VCUarts, Naya has gained an understanding of fashion forecasting, fashion entrepreneurship, fashion branding, technical prowess, supervision and management, and retail buying. In December 2023-2024, Naya will obtain her B.A. in Fashion and M.S. in Business. She is the first in her family to receive a Master’s degree. Her drive to get a master’s degree came from wanting to expand her knowledge in business to help with her future luxury brand. Throughout the program, Naya is learning about financial accounting, consumer behavior, digital marketing, and brand strategy. She hopes to have a deeper perception of the business function of marketing. Her goals include creating a fashion house and creating content to inspire individuals to look and feel their best! Her inspiration derives from the people surrounding her and her love for fashion. Her interests include styling, editing, designing, and branding. She loves how an outfit can tell a story.
